Advanced analytical work and skills needed in the corporate space : What does a corporate financial analyst do? Other events...
This talk will look at some examples of advanced analytical work in the corporate space and the challenges operating in that environment can pose to a former academic. We’ll then look at some of the skills I believe are key to being successful as a data scientist in a commercial environment.
Speaker(s) Dr Ben Odgers received his PhD from the University of Bristol in 2006 for a Thesis entitled �Random Matrix Theory & L Functions: Transitions Between Ensembles�. Following post-doctoral positions at the American Institute of Mathematics and the University of Bordeaux, since 2008 he has worked in Sydney in the finance industry in various analytical roles with Macquarie Group and ANZ.
